DIY: Make Your Own Nail Polish Strips!

Nail polish strips are very popular these days, probably because they’re mess-free, easy to use, and has endless variety. While I was playing around with some nail designs, I found a way to make my own nail polish strips for a fraction of the cost of the store-bought ones. It’s really easy and you only needs three things:

1) Sticker Sheet (the shiny paper back that you peel stickers off of; I just used a sheet from some sticker labels we had)

2) Clear Nail Polish

3) Nail Polish of your choice

I opted to make stripped design on mine, but you could easily make your own design or even leave it plain.

1) First, paint your base color on the sticker sheet (shiny side up). Make sure that you paint a rectangle-ish area long enough for all ten fingers. The length I have shown is enough for five fingers.

2) Do the same with your second color, but this one doesn’t have to be as large. Estimate the amount you’ll need for your design. Make sure to paint at least two solid layers of each nail polish color so you get vibrant colors.

3) Let dry for a couple of hours.

While you’re waiting for the strips to dry, paint your nails with a layer of clear nail polish. You want to make sure to cover the entire nail evenly as this is what your nail strips will be sticking to.

After the strips of nail polish have dried, I cut the green sheet into strips, peeled them off the sticker sheet, then stuck them to the orange nail polish randomly, making sure to securely press down the green strips. The green strips should stick to the orange nail polish easily.

~Right before you put the nail polish sheet on your fingers, paint another layer of clear nail polish on your nails. The strips stick better when the clear nail polish is still a bit wet.~

Cut your strip into finger nail sizes and peel the dried nail polish off the sticker sheet. Press down firmly on your finger nail and use a nail file to carefully remove the excess, just as you would with store-bought nail polish strips.

Repeat on all ten fingers and ta-daa~

*Wait a few hours for the polish to be completely dry before covering it with top coat to avoid smudging.

So tonight I made my first soufflé :D
I am very happy with how it turned out, even though it didn’t rise quite as beautifully as I had hoped. It still tasted very very good though! It was rich and light at the same time, which is going to be perfect for tomorrow’s Mother’s Day lunch :)
(It’s a vanilla soufflé, btw)

oh my god i wish i could make something like this ;o;
give me your skills

It was a lot easier than I thought it would be! I’ll teach you when we get back :D
